Hundred Houses Welcomes our Next Chair

We are really pleased to be able to announce that Sara Garnham has been chosen as the next Chair of Hundred Houses Society from September 2021.

Sara impressed those involved with the recruitment process with her Cambridge and community focus; understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing Hundred Houses; housing and wider private and public sector experience; and her approach to customer service and engagement, and diversity and inclusion.

In order to finalise Sara’s appointment, the Board will recommend Sara to be appointed as a Board member at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 13th September 2021. Immediately after the AGM, Board members will confirm their decision at a Board meeting, and Sara will officially become the next Chair of the Board.

Commenting on her appointment, Sara has given the following message to Hundred Houses customers: “I am delighted to have been selected to join the Board of Hundred Houses Society and take over as Chair from Nick Abbey in the Autumn. I have lived in Chesterton since 1984 and have been involved in the local community from the Mitchams Corner Residents and Traders to local charities supporting arts, education and welfare activities across Cambridge. This is my home and I will be working with the Board and employee team at Hundred Houses to make sure our homes are the best they can be for our communities. I look forward to meeting you and listening to your views as we work our way forward together after the challenges of the last 18 months.”

At the same time as welcoming Sara, Hundred Houses wish a fond farewell to Nick Abbey who retires from the Board and his role as our current Chair of the Board at the AGM. Nick will be much missed by all involved with Hundred Houses and we are incredibly grateful for all he has done for the Society over the last 6 years and wish him all the very best for the future.
