Whirpool Tumble Dryer Owners – What you need to know and what to do now
You will have seen in press over the past couple of days that the Government are to order Whirlpool to issue a product recall for certain models of tumble dryers. Whirlpool still hasn't published a full list of affected models but have said that the affected products are all models of vented and condensing tumble dryers produced between 1 April 2004 and 30 September 2015 and sold in the UK under the Hotpoint, Indesit, Creda, Proline and Swan names.
A Whirlpool Corporation spokeswoman said: ‘The crucial message to anyone who still owns an affected dryer and has not already had it modified by Whirlpool is to contact us immediately on 0800 151 0905. You should make a note of the model make and model number before contacting Whirlpool.
We strongly recommend that you check with Whirlpool if you're concerned you, or someone you know, owns a tumble dryer affected by the safety alert. If in any doubt, stop using your tumble dryer, unplug it and leave it unplugged until you have spoken with Whirlpool.
